Fair well Lady bugs

Thank you thank you thank you to all of the wonderful ladies at Kaufman workout center. I love you all so much, and the lessons you've taught me will always be remembered. Thanks for giving me a chance, and being my first yoga class ever! You'll always be my lady bugs.

Although letting go
is a great challenge,
giving up the cozy,
the familiar
& heading toward
the uncharted.
A small guarantee
If you've tried all the paths
could be you're
Falling into opportunity.

#advicetomyself - Week 4

FOUR.

Give attention, don’t pay it.

It has been said,
attention is our currency.
If that's the case
you've given much to waste
2 hours of attention to Facebook
40 minutes spent on how you look
On good days
You might spend
about an hour
two hours tops
on a really good book
Return it to the shelf &
Try your best, remember
to pay enough attention
to your authentic self.
to what breathes for you
what pumps your heart
day in day out
Not in the mirror gazing
Not examining your skin
Pay attention to all the processes
Each process complete magic
& happening within.

#advicetomyself - Week 3

THREE.

Slow down, chew it slow,  chew it ALL really really slow.

"...chew it all so slow..."-Meghan Currie

Anxiety, worry, fear
The tres amigos
all here
present and accounted for
Driving the car
Quick look out the window
Get at least a glimpse of
where you are.
Try to slow them down
The dangerous three musketeers
Its them you must get around

Anxiety, full of haste
Worry, makes you hurry
& fear makes everything unclear

Grab the wheel first chance
& Steer
Wiggle your foot
Onto the brake
Awake,
Breath in deep, relax.
Stop the car
Get out to fully see where you are
Chew slowly on the sights
Leisurely, drink up the air
Take tiny little itty bits
Stay present & aware
Time moves fast enough
No need to increase the speed
Conquer the three
Just breathe slow
& breathe deep.

#advicetomyself - Week 2

TWO.

Love yourself first, so that you can better love others.

“You, yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe,
deserves your love and affection.”
 -the Buddha

"Why do you see the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when there is the log in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother’s eye."- Jesus

Love and accept
All that is
In this moment, the next
& those moments before
The more practice
of total self-acceptance
of light and dark
within you
the more feasible it is
to become unconditional love.
Love fully, love totally
Passing no judgments,
Not good, not bad
Really it is just
what it is
trust
that it’s perfect & well-crafted for you
Be grateful
Be blue
You'll choose & choose & choose.
Always up to you.
Forgive and live
in love.
Once you’re practiced in
love first with yourself,
you’ll be ready to love another
just as well

Think global
Act local
Love begins with you.
Always respect the soul

#advicetomyself - Week 1

ONE.

Accept the “bad” part of yourself, and forgive it daily.

It's so easy for you to look down on yourself
To zoom in microscopically on the details of your flaws.
Dissecting each part with the eyes of a perfectionist.
Never accepting
that what is now, is perfect.
It's like picking at a scab,
picking and scratching and picking
5 minutes pass
You're still picking,
wanting the wound to just heal up already
10 minutes pass
and all you've done is sabotaged
& side tracked the healing
process and speed.
Rewind 15 minutes.
Pause
at the instant
you remembered the scab.
the moment you noticed it.
This time
Look at it, observe
note it's healing progress
Breathe in and accept it
where it's at
exactly how it looks
& exactly how it feels
keep tabs
accept your scabs
& trust their healing process.

Be sure to really look at them
Avoid covering them up too often
Accidentally hiding them from yourself
take off the bandaid
Let air into your wound
To facilitate the healing process.
